Premiere of the final ESC version of “Legenda”, plus exclusive interview with Marcin Mroziński

“Legenda”, written by Marcin Nierubiec, with lyrics by Marcin Mroziński himself, is Poland’s 15th entry at the Eurovision Song Contest. The song will be competing at spot #9 in the 1st Semi-Final, to be held on the 25th of May in Oslo.

BIOGRAPHY

Marcin Mroziński is a 24 year old singer, actor and TV presenter. He also writes and composes his own songs. He graduated from The Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy in Warsaw (main Drama School in Poland) in 2009.

He was 8 years old when debuting in TV kinder show ‘5-10-15’ and later took part in most  children’s song contests in Poland always achieving top scores. In 1997 he won a prestigious competition – National French Song Contest for Polish singers. He also represented Poland in the 3rd International Festival ‘Singing Mask’, gaining the 2nd prize.  In 1998 he started his collaboration with TVP hosting a popular music show ‘Songowanie na ekranie’. He was also one of the semi-finalists of Polish ‘Idol’.

Since then, Marcin has had a lot of success as an actor and singer. Last year he played in two musical super productions, in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘The Phantom of The Opera’, playing the role of Raoul de Chagny,  and in ‘Boyband’ by Peter Quilter, playing the role of Sean. He also recorded an album with the original Polish cast of ‘The Phantom of The Opera’. Then he was cast to a special ‘Notre Dame l’Histoire’ concert based on the musical ‘Notre Dame de Paris’ by Luc Plamondon, for the role of Clopin.  Currently, the young artist performs in four plays, including ‘Piosenka jest dobra na wszystko’, devoted to legendary Polish cabaret ‘Kabaret Starszych Panów’. Recently, the Musical Theater ROMA has also announced that he was selected to star in another musical ‘Les Miserables’, which premiers in Warsaw in September.

Marcin hosts a Cartoon Network production ‘Staraoke’, recorded at MTV’s studio in London as well. His voice is also well known in Poland thanks to dubbing in TV and cinema productions, including last Walt Disney’s hit ‘The Princess and the Frog’, in the role of the Prince transformed into a frog.

Currently Marcin is working on his first solo album. His overwhelming victory in the National Selection to ESC 2010 makes him the 15th representative of his country. Marcin’s fans believe the song will be a LEGENDAry contribution to the contest.
