Eurovision Top 250 – Congratulations, Željko Joksimović!

After an exciting countdown which had started in the morning at 11:00 CET, we finally had a winner last night just before midnight. Serbia’s entry from the  2004 Eurovision Song Contest, Lane Moje, received  the most votes in this year’s edition of the ‘Eurovision Top 250’, congratulations to Željko Joksimović. At 23:40 we finished our broadcast of the radio show with a personal message from Željko.

The 2009 ESC winning song Fairytale by Alexander Rybak came second in the voting, followed by Helena Paparizou’s My Number One, Greek winner of the 2005 contest in Kiev. The most voted song from last year’s Contest in Düsseldorf is the Swedish entry Popular by Eric Saade, who had already won the Best Song category at the 2011 ESC Radio Awards. As the highest-placed song from the 1990s decade, Poland’s To Nie Ja!, sung by Edyta Górniak, ranks at #6. The highest-ranking Eurovision entry from the 70’s is ABBA’s Waterloo (ESC winner 1974), placed at #13, and 1987 Irish winner Hold Me Now by Johnny Logan came out the most voted song from the 1980s decade at #32. Belgium’s entry from 2006, Je T’Adore, performed by Kate Ryan and placed here at #81, should be mentioned as the highest placement of a song that never even made it to a Eurovision final. Je T’Adore was eliminated in the 2006 semi-final.

On this occasion, special thanks go to our partner website 12points.tv for organizing the voting, and also to the various Eurovision websites that supported this project. ESC Radio wishes everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012!

  1. Actually Je T’adore is the highest placing entry that didn’t make it to a Eurovision final so the comment about Horehronie is incorrect.

  2. Thank you Europa for putting 9 danish entries into this list 🙂

I have a request for the ESCradio and 12points.tv: please upload the top 250 with points, so we can see how many points each song got

    By the way :LOVE ESCRADIO:COM

  5. Why is Tose’s Life almost at the very bottom of the chart?! I still think that song carries a true meaning!

  6. No entiendo esto, ¿Milan Stankovic entre los diez mejores? Si es una canción mediocre.

  7. @EdytaGorniakFan.com • Najlepsze źródło informacji poświęcone polskiej piosenkarce Edycie Górniak

That song is not mediocre, it’s horrible.

  8. Edyta Gorniak 1994 – To nie ja – is most definitely the best song ever sung on Eurovision. Edyta CD – Edyta Gorniak with more hits such as: one and one, anything, miles and miles, when you come back to me, Impossible, and many more…

  9. Please allow voting for more than just 10 songs! let us vote next time for 30 songs!
    Happy new year

  10. Lejla from Bosnia and Herezgovina is the most beautiful song here, i just can’t believe it is 19. – should definetly be in top 5!

  11. I am from Serbia but I can’t believe how people could vote so much for Milan Stanković???
It’s one of the most horrible songs and performances in ESC history!
    Congratulations Joksimović!!!
The songs from earlier years are underrated in the list.
