…and here are the results of the 1st semi-final of Eurovision 2012

Last night, 22 May, the first semi-final of the 57th Eurovision Song Contest took place at Baku Crystal Hall, Azerbaijan. The entries from 18 countries competed for 10 slots in the grand final to be held this coming Satuarday, 26 May, eight countries got eliminated.

Last night, 22 May, the first semi-final of the 57th Eurovision Song Contest took place at Baku Crystal Hall, Azerbaijan. The entries from 18 countries competed for 10 slots in the grand final to be held this coming Satuarday, 26 May, eight countries got eliminated.

The following ten countries qualified for the grand final (the number in brackets shows the starting number for the final on Saturday)

ICELAND Gréta Salóme & Jónsi – Never Forget (7.)
GREECE Eleftheria Eleftheriou – Aphrodisiac (16.)
ALBANIA Rona Nishliu – Suus (3.)
ROMANIA Mandinga – Zaleilah (14.)
CYPRUS Ivi Adamou – La La Love (8.)
DENMARK Soluna Samay – Should’ve Known Better (15.)
RUSSIA Buranovskiye Babushki – Coming Home (6.)
HUNGARY Compact Disco – Sound Of Our Hearts (2.)
MOLDOVA Pasha Parfeny – Lautar (26.)
IRELAND Jedward – Waterline (23.)

The 8 countries that got eliminated are:

1. MONTENEGRO Rambo Amadeus – Neuro Euro
4. LATVIA Anmary – Beautiful Song
7. SWITZERLAND Sinplus – Unbreakable
8. BELGIUM Iris – Would You?
9. FINLAND Pernilla – När Jag Blundar
10. ISRAEL Izabo – Time
11. SAN MARINO Valentina Monetta – The Social Network Song
16. AUSTRIA Trackshittaz – Woki Mit Deim Popo

The 2nd semi-final will be held on Thursday, 24 May, when another 18 countries will be competing for another 10 slots in the grand final.
