Two weeks have passed since the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest took place in Oslo’s Telenor Arena, time to check which entries managed to make some chart waves. In the latest edition of the European Hot 100 Singles Chart from last weekend, Germany’s Lena and her ESC winning song Satellite climbed to No. 1 as the most selling single in Europe, thanks to #1 positions in Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, plus Germany for a second non-consecutive run (initially, the song had topped the German singles chart for a whole month right after the national final in March)…

In the latest edition of the European Hot 100 Singles Chart from last weekend, Germany’s Lena and her ESC winning song Satellite climbed to No. 1 as the most selling single in Europe, thanks to #1 positions in Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, plus Germany for a second non-consecutive run (initially, the song had topped the German singles chart for a whole month right after the national final in March). Satellite made it to #2 in Ireland and Austria, #4 in Belgium and #5 in the Netherlands. In the UK Lena landed at #30 in the first week after her victory in the contest, in Spain Satellite has climbed to #23 in its second week. It’s the first time ever for an ESC winning song to top the European Singles Chart. In 2009 Norway’s Fairytale by Alexander Rybak reached No. 3.

Apart from the winning song Satellite, two other entries from this year’s contest are doing very well in the charts, most notably the French entry Allez Ola Olé by Jessy Matador, who moved up to No. 6 on the European Hot 100 Singles Chart (FR #1, NO #5, BE #5, FI #7, DK #30 and SE #34), but also the Belgium entry Me And My Guitar by Tom Dice who currently ranks at No. 27 (BE #1, DE #20, CH #32, SE #35, DK #40; in the first week after Eurovision, Tom also landed at #20 in Ireland and #30 in the Netherlands).

A handful of other 2010 entries have made lower appearances on international singles charts: Azerbaijan’s Safura and her  Drip Drop (NO #15, CH #22, DE #26, BE #38, SE #40, AT #41), Denmark’s In A Moment Like This by Chanée & N’evergreen (NO #5, CH #12, SE #21), Paula Seling & Ovi’s Playing With Fire, which represented Romania in Oslo (NO #11, SE #29, CH #51), and also Iceland’s Hera Björk and her song Je Ne Sais Quoi (FI #17, BE #27, SE #49, CH #64). Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira from Moldova with their Run Away have reached a remarkable #7 in Norway and #31 in Sweden so far.

Another song which made quite an impact at the contest in Oslo and is currently moving up the charts across Europe is the interval act from the ESC final, Glow by urban duo Madcon from Norway. So far, the song has made it to #1 in Norway, #12 in Ireland, #16 in Denmark, #17 in Sweden, #35 in Spain and #59 in the Netherlands. Glow is likely to enter the charts in other countries and hit the European Hot 100 Singles Chart very soon.

Strangely enough, the runner-up from the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, Turkey’s maNga and their We Could Be The Same, hasn’t been successful on the international charts yet. The song only reached #29 in Sweden in the first week after the contest, in Switzerland #56.
