Joe and Jake, who represented the United Kingdom at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm with the song “You’re Not Alone”, were the winners in this year’s ESC Radio Awards poll in the category „Best Group“. With a special video message they now want to sincerely thank all their fans who voted for them.
On Saturday 21 January 2017, Joe and Jake will be performing at the OGAE Eurovision fan club meeting in Munich, Germany.
About the Awards:
Between June 25 and July 3, ESC Radio listeners and Eurovision fans had the opportunity to vote for their favourite songs and acts of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Votes came in not only from the 42 participating countries, but from all corners of Europe and other parts of the world like Australia, Asia, North and South America.
ESC Radio Awards 2015: The Winners – Italy’s Il Volo soar to victory, emphatically winning Best Song and Best Group – Polina Gagarina and Loïc Nottet dominate Best Female/Best Male Artist votings
The voting in the 2015 ESC Radio Awards was held from 6-14 June, and the worldwide listeners and fans have made their choice. Votes came in not only from the 40 countries that participated in this year’s Contest, but from all corners of Europe and other parts of the world like North and South America. Many thanks to everyone who voted!
Il Volo, Italy’s representatives in Vienna scored the overall victory: Their entry Grande Amore, written and composed by Francesco Boccia and Ciro Esposito, won the Best Song category with 25.92% of the vote, and Piero, Ignazio & Gianluca came out on top in the Best Group voting with 37.13%. Congratulations to Il Volo and to the writers of the song!
Polina Gagarina who represented Russia at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest (A Million Voices), dominated the Best Female Artist voting from day one and finished with 23.03% of the vote. Loïc Nottet, Belgium’s representative in Vienna, came out the clear winner as Best Male Artist 2015 with 32.10%. This marks the first time that Belgium has won an ESC Radio award. His entry Rhythm Inside finished a fabulous second place in the Best Song voting.

For one week, 17-25 May, ESC Radio listeners and Eurovision fans had the opportunity to cast their votes. Votes came in not only from the 37 countries that participated in this year’s Contest, but from all corners of Europe and other parts of the world like North and South America and Australia. Thanks a lot to everyone who voted! And here are the results:
András Kállay-Saunders, Hungary’s representative in Copenhagen scored the overall victory: His entry Running, written and composed by Krisztián Szakos and András himself, won the Best Song category with 8.8% of the vote, and he also tops the Best Male Artist voting (23.9%) after running neck-and-neck with Sebalter from Switzerland for the whole week. Congratulations to András Kállay-Saunders and the co-writer of his song, Krisztián Szakos!
In the Best Female Artist category, Sweden’s Sanna Nielsen secured her win with 30.1% of the vote. In the Best Group voting the trophies go to The Common Linnets from The Netherlands (18.8%).

Last July, the guys from Koza Mostra and Agathon Iakovidis received the ‘Best Group’ trophies awarded by the listeners in the 2013 ESC Radio Awards voting. Recently, Koza Mostra’s lead singer Ilias Kozas took the time to speak a few words of thanks to their voters. You can watch the video here:

Last weekend, the United Kingdom’s 2013 Eurovision representative Bonnie Tyler performed a concert in Potsdam, Germany. We met the Welsh singer and double award winner to hand over the trophies. The voting for this year’s ESC Radio Awards was held during the week ending June 16, and as usual votes came in not only from the countries that participated in the contest, but from our worldwide listenership including the Americas and Australia.
Believe In Me, written by Desmond Child, Lauren Christy and Christopher Braide, won the Best Song voting with 12.6% of the vote, and Bonnie Tyler also topped the vote for Best Female Artist (16.9%). It’s the first time for a UK representative to pick up an award in the ESC Radio polls. The UK’s best result to date was a sixth place for Blue and I Can in 2011.

As usual, votes came in not only from the countries that participated in the contest, but from the whole of Europe and other parts of the world like North and South America and Australia. Once again we have one winner who picks up the trophy in two categories: Bonnie Tyler, the Welsh singer who represented the United Kingdom in Malmö with the song Believe In Me, written by Desmond Child, Lauren Christy and Christopher Braide, wins the awards for Best Song and Best Female Artist with 12.6% and 16.8% of the vote, respectively. Congratulations, Bonnie Tyler!
Marco Mengoni, Italy’s representative at this year’s ESC with the song L’Essenziale, came out the winner as Best Male Artist 2013. In the Best Group category it’s a clear win for Koza Mostra feat. Agathonas Iakovidis who represented Greece in Malmö (Alcohol Is Free).
