Close to midnight last night, the countdown of the 250 most voted songs was complete, and Sweden’s 2023 Eurovision winning song Tattoo performed by Loreen finished on top, congratulations! In a rather tight race for the top three positions, Käärijä’s Cha Cha Cha (Finland 2023) and Loreen’s Euphoria (Sweden 2012) were beaten to second and third place (for the detailed points see below please).

A third Swedish entry made the Top 10, Hold Me Closer by Cornelia Jakobs (2022) finished in fifth place. Altogether, 17 Swedish entries are listed, only beaten by Italy with 18 songs. Two of them reached the Top 10, Måneskin Zitti E Buoni at #10 and, quite remarkably, Diodato Fai Rumore at #4 – a song that did not even make the tv competition in 2020 when the Contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, Italy is the only country that managed to enter songs from each decade – from Domenico Modugno’s 1958 classic Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare), at place #193, to Marco Mengoni’s 2023 entry Due Vite at #21.

The Top 10 is completed by Duncan Laurence’s 2019 Dutch winning song Arcade at #6, Chanel’s SloMo (Spain 2022) at #7, Eleni Foureira and Fuego (Cyprus 2018) at #8, and Go_A’s Shum (Ukraine 2021) at #9. Four songs from the years before 2000 reached the Top 50: Secret Garden’s Nocturne (Norway 1995) at #25, ABBA Waterloo at #31, Sebnem Paker Dinle (Turkey 1997) at #38, and Katrina and The Waves Love Shine A Light (UK 1997) at #42.

Sorted by decades, we see the majority of songs coming from the 2000s, 38 songs from the 90s decade, nine songs from the 1980s, twelve songs from the 70s, three songs from the 60s decade, and one song from the 1950s.

Sorted by countries, Italy (18 songs) and Sweden (17 songs) are followed by Norway with 11 songs, Spain with 10 songs and France and Israel with 9 songs each.
