Ireland has one of the best balance sheets in the Eurovision Song Contest history. Apart from its record seven victories, the country gained four second places, one third place, and nineteen top ten placings to date.
Over the past decade, Ireland has sent mostly uptempo songs to the Contest, and this year in Malmö 25-year-old Ryan Dolan will carry the flag for the Emerald Isle. His song Only Love Survives, written by Wez Devine and Ryan Dolan himself, is Ireland’s 47th entry to the ESC and will be performed in the first semi-final on 14 May at starting position #13.
