ESC Radio Awards 2019 – The winners!

The voting for the 2019 ESC Radio Awards was open from June 1-10, and listeners fans and followers of the Eurovision Song Contest worldwide got to decide who’s to take home the trophies. And here are the results:

For the first time since the Awards were initiated in 2006, we do not have a double winner this year. In the Best Song category the trophy goes to the 2019 ESC winning song “Arcade”, written by Joel Sjöö, Wouter Hardy and Duncan Laurence and performed by Duncan Laurence for the Netherlands. KEiiNO’s “Spirit In The Sky”, winner of the televoting in the tv show on 18th May, takes second place, followed by “She Got Me” in third place, Switzerland’s entry performed by Luca Hänni.

The Best Male Artist category saw a tight race among three acts, and Luca Hänni came out on top with 14.5%, winning the trophy – the first time for Switzerland to win an ESC Radio Award. Duncan Laurence from the Netherlands finished in second place with 13.7% of the vote, and Italy’s Mahmood came third with 13.4%.

We have another first timer for the Best Female Artist award: Tamara Todevska took the win with 23.3% of the vote. It’s the first ESC Radio Award for a North Macedonian act. Tamara’s song „Proud“, was the winner of the jury voting in the tv show on 18th May. Australia’s. Kate Miller-Heidke came second in Best Female Artist, and Tamta from Cyprus finished in third place.

With 47.9%, Norways’ KEiiNO won a landslide victory in Best Group. It’s the second time for Norway to win an ESC Radio Award since Alexander Rybak’s double win in 2009. Runner-up in Best Group is Iceland’s three-piece band Hatari, and Lake Malawi from the Czech Republic came third.

Congratulations to all the winners! We will get in touch with them to hand over the trophies as soon as possible. For the complete rankings of the 2019 ESC Radio Awards, see below please
