ARMENIA – Dorians – Lonely Planet

Armenia debuted at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest and sends its 7th entry this year. Except for the last entry, Boom Boom, performed by Emmy in 2011, the other five entries all finished in the top ten, with a fourth place for Siruhos’s 2008 song Qélé Qélé as the best result to date.

This year, Armenian broadcaster ARMTV internally selected the rock band Dorians with front singer Gor Suiyan as the country’s representatives for Malmö. In a televised national final on 2 March, Gor Suiyan performed four songs and Lonely Planet, written by Tony Iommi and Vardan Zadoyan, came out the winner. Dorians have been allocated to compete in the second semi-final at starting position #11.
