We have added several new and recent releases to our playlist this week. Among them there’s Pastora Soler’s new single Te Despertaré, follow-up singles of three 2013 ESC contestants – Cascada (Germany), Farid Mammadov (Azerbaijan) and Birgit Öigemeel (Estonia) -, plus the solo debut of Claudia Diamá D’Addio who represented Switzerland at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens as part of the group six4one. Diama La Mossa Cover

In 2006, Claudia D’Addio was the Swiss part of the group six4one that represented the Alpine country at Eurovision in Athens, Greece, with the song If We All Give A Little. Claudia recently renamed herself as Diamá, and La Mossa (The Brush-Off) is the title of her debut single. Farid Mammadov, runner-up at this year’s Contest in Malmö, Sweden (Hold Me), has released a new song, K Tebe (To You), composed by himself with lyrics by Zahra Badalbeyli. Check it out here:

The World Is In My Hands is the title of a new single by Cascada (Glorious, Germany 2013). Just like her Eurovision entry the track is included on her current album The Best Of Cascada. This is the official music video:

Another new addition to our playlist is the song Nii Täiuslik See, the follow-up release of Estonia’s 2013 representative Birgit Õigemeel (Et Uus Saaks Alguse). You can find the track on iTunes!

Pastora Soler achieved  Spain’s best result in a decade  when she finished 10th at the 2012 ESC in Baku, Azerbaijan, with the song Quédate Conmigo. Now Pastora has released a brand new song entitled Te Despertaré (I’ll Wake You Up), and her new album is due out in September. Watch the music video of Te Despertaré here

Sex & City Life  is one of two Lithuanian newbies on the playlist. It’s the recent hit single of Sasha Song who represented his home country at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow with the song Love. Check out Sex & City Life here:

His fellow-countryman Donny Montell competed at last year’s Contest in Baku (Love Is Blind). For his latest release Artoju Himnas, Donny teamed up with One Element & Kamile:

Neighbouring Latvia’s contribution to our new playlist is the recent Musiqq release Trakas Atminas. The duo, comprised of Marats Ogleznevs and Emils Balceris, participated at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, Germany (Angel In Disguise). Watch the lyrics video of Trakas Atminas here:

Last but not least we’d like to draw your attention to the latest single of Compact Disco who represented Hungary at the 2012 ESC in Baku (Sound Of Our Hearts). The title of the single is We Will Not Go Down, and it’s available for download on iTunes and amazon. As much as I appreciate you adding new releases to the playlist every month, I honestly believe that these songs are rather mediocre with the exception of TE DESPERTARE which is a great uptempo ballad in the finest tradition of the ESC. I think that there should be a higher criteria in choosing new releases. The songs have to be truly outstanding and refreshing in order to be included in the playlist: Just because a certain performer took part in a recent esc contest doesn’t mean that his or her non-esc entry is a ‘must’ hear song.

  2. I agree with you Ron 100%. I think that the best songs (that could be ESC material, if they had participated…) are the ones to be included. For example, Helena Paparizou’s “Save Me (This is an S.O.S)” is ESC material, or Loreen’s “We Got The Power”, but others are not.
    Nonetheless, thanks ESC Radio for your wonderful effort to bring the best of European music!!!

  3. I don’t agree, because how can they choose what song is good enough and what song isn’t. I like this song from Birgit and someone else don’t
