Unsurprisingly, most of the songs on No Boundaries are written by Alexander himself. However, while the advance track Europe Skies followed along the lines of his ESC winning song Fairytale, the album offers a larger variety of musical styles. The folksy violin is still dominant in other songs like Dare I Say, Barn Dance and the single release Oah. But quite a number of songs are distinctly different in style and sound. For example Suomi, the hymnic tribute to neighbouring Finland, also the musical-inspired opening track First Kiss, and most notably Alexander’s cover version of I’m In Love, originally a minor hit for John The Whistler (Umberto Carli) in 2000, and in 2004 also a Swedish Top 10 hit for Malta’s Fabrizio Faniello (ESC 2001/2006). And who would have seen Alexander as a pop punker? Check out Why Not Me, and you’ll be in for another surprise!
During the summer months, Alexander Rybak will be performing and promoting No Boundaries mostly in Norway, Sweden and Finland. For more information please visit Alexander’s official website: www.alexanderrybak.com
