Gali Atari (Hallelujah), respectively, followed by two second places in a row in 1982 and 1983, with Ofra Haza (Hi) and Avi Toledano (Hora), respectively. In 1998, the country earned a third victory with the song Diva, performed by Dana International.
Winner of this year’s Israeli Kdam selection was 21-year old Moran Mazor with the song Rak Bishvilo (Only for him), written by Chen Harari and Gal Sarig. Israel will participate in the second semi-final on 16 May at starting position #10. It’s Israel’s 37th entry to the Eurovision Song Contest.
