The five-piece band Woods of Birnam was founded in 2011, but only three years later, at the end of 2014 their self-titled debut album Woods of Birnam was released.
Now the band is one of the ten acts to compete in the Eurovision 2016 German national final where they will be performing the song Lift Me Up (from the Underground).
Three members of the band – Christian Friedel (lead vocals, piano), Uwe Pasora (bass) and Christian Grochau (drums) – visited the ESC Radio studio in Berlin for an exclusive interview in which they explain the Shakespearean origin of the band name, surprise with solid knowledge of Eurovision and talk about their upcoming performance at the German national final.
