Emmy to represent Armenia – “Boom Boom”

Early on, 26-year-old singer Emmy was nominated to represent Armenia in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. Later on, in a national final staged on 5th March, Emmy sang four songs, and by by a 50-50 televote and and jury vote system, Boom Boom was chosen to go to Düsseldorf. The Song is written by Hayk Harutyunyan, Hayk Hovhannisyan, with lyrics by Sosi Khanikyan.

“Boom Boom” is Armenia’s sixth entry to the Contest and it will be performed in the 1st semi-final, at starting position #4.

About EMMY

This year in the Eurovision Song Contest Armenia will represent one of the leading Armenian singers – Emmy!

Emmy grew up in a family where music and art has always played a key role. She got famous already at a very young age and became an idol for many children. She studied music professionally at the Sayat-Nova Musical School, “Emmy B” Producer Center’s Vocal Studio and Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas in Jazz-Vocal Department.

As a solo singer, and as a past member of the music group Hayer, Emmy has toured the whole world and won uncountable awards. At the age of 10 she won the Best Singer Award for the Song Funny Rain in the Asup Song Competition. Emmy is a record-breaker with her collection of Grand-Prixs and First Prizes got in international music contests and festivals in Armenia, Cyprus, Russia, Syria, Germany, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Georgia and the Czech Republic. Emmy also runs the Emmy-B Production Center, which is aimed at discovering new talents in Armenia.

She released 3 albums, 20 music videos, more than 60 songs and hosted several popular TV shows. Recently Emmy had a solo concert in Yerevan and released her new album.

Victory in Eurovision Song Contest 2011 is her next and the most essential goal to achieve this year.

Emmy will dedicate her performance on the Eurovision Song Contest stage to her father’s Davit Bejanyan’s memory.
